Friends of St Benet’s (FOSB) PTA group

Here at St Benet’s, we have a friendly and very supportive Friends of St Benet’s PTA group. This group has been in operation for about twenty years and over the decades we have raised thousands and thousands of pounds for the school. Every year we have a very successful Friends of St Benet’s Summer Fayre, usually held on a Sunday late June/July.

The Friends of St Benet’s aim to advance the education of the pupils in the school by developing effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school and engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Any parent or carer of a child at St Benet’s is welcome to join the group as a committee member.

Fundraising from the Friends of St Benet’s is put towards the annual Christmas pantomime trip every year as well as providing resources such as library books, wet playtime games and a class set of iPads. During 2016/2017, the FOSB group helped to fund new outdoor playtime equipment such as gym equipment, a story telling area, sensory equipment, a stage, a climbing frame and some fine motor skills materials. During 2017/2018, the funds raised from the summer fayre were used to supplement the costs of two new Promethean Panels in our Reception and Year 1 classroom. We are very lucky to have such a successful fundraising group! Our families enjoying bingo, quiz and pie and peas at our Xmas family night
