The Year 5/6 residential trip to the Lakes was superb this year. This time the children stayed at the Ullswater site, on the other side of the Lake to Howtown. With activities such as canoeing in the sunshine, mountain climbing, the famous ‘jog and dip’, gorge walking and facing fears by climbing the trapeze, the children were certainly kept busy during their time away from Ouston.
Such trips truly promote skills such as teambuilding, confidence making and independence. Singing and telling stories around a campfire, orienteering and of course, the famous hot chocolate all make for even more memorable night-time activities.
We all had a great week and these photos are only a snapshot of the fun and enjoyment had by all! Bring on Howtown 2016!
