As St Benet’s is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic primary school, we do not follow the local authority’s holiday dates. Below you will find a copy of the current academic year and the following academic year’s holiday dates. The document also includes teacher training days. This document is correct at going to press, however it may be subject to change.
School Holidays During Term Time
The government stipulate that school holidays should not be taken during term time.
Head teachers have the discretion to grant leave, but they should only do so in exceptional circumstances. If a head teacher grants a leave request, it will be for them to determine the length of time that the child can be away from school. This leave is unlikely, however, to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday.
Parents can be fined for taking their child on holiday during term time without consent from the school.
To apply for leave of absence during term time, please click on the form below and complete the first two sections before returning it to school.
Please contact the school if you wish to discuss this with the Headteacher.
