The Year 5/6 residential trip to the Lakes was superb this year. This time the children stayed at the Ullswater site, on the other side of the Lake to Howtown. With activities such as canoeing in the sunshine, mountain climbing, the famous ‘jog and dip’, gorge walking and facing fears by climbing the trapeze, the children were certainly kept busy during their time away from Ouston.
Such trips truly promote skills such as teambuilding, confidence making and independence. Singing and telling stories around a campfire, orienteering and of course, the famous hot chocolate all make for even more memorable night-time activities.
We all had a great week and these photos are only a snapshot of the fun and enjoyment had by all! Bring on Howtown 2016!
The holiday dates for 2016- 2017 have been set and can be found by clicking the link above. All holiday dates can be found in the School Holidays section of the website.
The photos below illustrate what a fantastic summer term we had here at St Benet’s. From our 40th birthday celebration, the choir singing at the Sage and Durham Cathedral, First Holy Communion, School trips to St Mary’s Lighthouse, Broomhouse Farm, the Baltic and London, the chicks and ducks, Sports Day, 70’s Day and the annual Summer Fayre – we had a fantastic time learning new things and celebrating!
Welcome back to a new academic school year here at St Benet’s! We hope it will be just as happy and successful as the previous year for all of our children, staff and parents!
It is that time of year again to complete our annual school survey. A link to our confidential parent survey can be found here
It should take no longer than 5 minutes! Thank you in advance for your support.
In the Pupils’ section of our website, you shall see a dedication to one of our past pupils, Caroline Theobald.
