At the heart of our school lies our mission statement ‘a happy and holy place of learning and the centre of a thriving community.’ In everything that we do, we remember that we are blessed to work, play and pray in a happy and holy place of learning.
The education of the whole child is our philosophy. We believe that each child is a unique individual deserving of love, care and the opportunity to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally and academically.
Children benefit from the Catholic Life of the School in many ways. Children and adults see St. Benet’s School as family and like all families we have happy times and sad times and are there for each other through both. We appreciate the caring and respectful relationships that exist between staff and pupils which allow us to work as a committed team.
This is a happy and inclusive school where pupils are encouraged to be thoughtful and to care for each other. We acknowledge that we are all capable of making mistakes – both adults and children alike. All are encouraged to be honest, express regret and equally forgive each other.
Prayer is central to the life of the school. The school day is punctuated with prayer. The day begins and ends with prayer and we say grace before and after lunch.
Children enjoy thinking of others in the community and we regularly fundraise for different charities such as CAFOD, St Cuthbert’s Care, Macmillan Cancer and The People’s Kitchen.
