Welcome

Our school is a small family Catholic Primary which serves the Parish of St. Joseph’s Birtley. We see it as our mission to spread the Gospel through our aspirations and care for the children in our school. Further to this, we believe that we have a mission to our families and the wider community and we sum this up in our mission statement, which describes our aim to be “ a happy and holy place of learning and the centre of a thriving community.”

The school has a Foundation Stage unit where children form Nursery and Reception are taught in an expansive purpose built outdoor area. Children from Key Stage 1 and 2 are taught in large light and airy classrooms.

We have a wide range of extra curricular activities including Dancing, Irish Dancing, Basketball, Football, Fencing, Gymnastics and Netball. We have a proud sporting tradition and compete with local school in a wide range of sports.

We offer high quality educational opportunities set in a context of spirituality and respect for each person’s dignity and uniqueness.
